Here's a must-see for tattoo enthusiasts: "Hori Smoku Sailor Jerry," the screening of a documentary that explores the roots of American tattooing through the life of one of its most iconoclastic figures, Norman "Sailor Jerry" Collins.
Based in Honolulu for most of his career, Collins is considered by many the foremost tattoo artist of all time. Through rare interviews, photographs and hours of archival footage, the documentary explores the past, present and future of the global tattooing phenomenon.
The documentary screening event is 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at Bar 35 on Hotel Street.
